Direction of quickrelease seat collar on my Obed

Hi all, I've just got my new obed from local bike shop, It's great! One small question, it came with a non-quickrealease seat collar so I have bought a Hope qr, but I see that the grove in the top of the seat tube is facing the front, does this mean that my QR collar needs to point backwards? Prob a silly question but want to be sure so don't damage the frame.
