Hello everyone.  I am new to the road bike side of things, and just purchased a 99-00 Litespeed Natchez.  I should be recieving it next week.  I am very excited, since Florida is ment for road bikes and not mtb.  The bike has Shimano 600 componets on it, and is in very good shape.  Should I consider getting rid of the old 600 technology and going with Ultrgra or dura ace?  It is worth the jump?  What are some sugestions on things I will need or should look into upgrading?  Thanks for your help....

600 components are indestructable. I am still riding the original 600 groupset on a steel bike from 1991. Must have 10,000s of miles on it. Only changed the right shifter, chain and cassette. Newer stuff might shift a bit quicker, but if you're not racing that doesn't really matter (especially since you will be riding in the flatlands).
For upgrades, I would look at the wheels. depending on what you have, something more aero may be.
