is in a bike shop
they are asking $3,900 (reduced from $5,900)
full dura-ace, king headset

I like the bike alot (have ridden a friend's litespeed tuscany)
but it's still alot of money

my question since I'm new to this:
--is this a good deal?
--particularly since this is a model from couple of seasons ago,not the latest? (and if so what would that mean in terms of quality/deal I'm getting)

thank you for your help!

This post is a month late, but maybe you're still looking. Litespeeds are fabulous bikes and I'm still in love with my 8 year old frame.

If you're not looking to be on the latest strangely shaped (to my eyes) wonder from Trek, Pinarello, or any of the other builders with radical frame shapes, I think Litespeeds are great bikes. Titanium is an amazing frame material and a joy to ride due to its unique combination of stiffness, ride comfort, and lightness. I'm not a carbon guy, even though it's lighter, and aluminum lacks personality and even with the new frame technology, tends to be overly stiff. So for my "lifetime" frame, I chose Litespeed titanium. I'll ride my frame as long as I ride bikes.

That price quoted for your Siena doesn't seem too bad. I paid about $3600 in 2001 for my Tuscany with Dura-Ace and Mavic Cosmos wheels.

Enjoy

This really is a good deal. You said you rode a Tuscany and liked it. I have a 2006 Tuscany and I love the bike. The Siena is stiffer and less of a comfort bike than the Tuscany, but they are quite close. I upgraded the wheels on mine to Ksyerium SLs and found them to be much better than what came with the bike. Its a lot of money but you will get years out of a virtually indestructible bike.
